Rice Sidesteps Nothing

I just love how the liberal media enjoy their little word games. Ms. Rices' confirmation by the Senate is underway and some people still don't get the fact that we are in a war. Granted, a Low Intensity Conflict, but still a war.

Whether you agree with the Iraq War or not, it has happened. Like it or not we are in this for the long haul. We made a commitment to the people of Iraq. We will not just cut and run because people are being killed. People die in combat (and in post-combat actions). This "timetable" everyone keeps talking about is a pipe dream. We will not leave because things are uncomfortable. We will leave Iraq when it is timely and safe to do so. Iraq is simply not stable enough. The second the U.S. steps out, destabilizing forces, both interior and exterior, will move in. Nature abhors a vacuum. We all know this. Why is everyone acting like we can just up and leave?

Yes, there was no exit strategy. Has anyone considered that our government may have known that we would be there for a long, long time? You can't plan your way out until you finish what you started. We packed for a long stay. Think Bosnia and Herzegovina.

***UPDATE***
Since I posted this, MSN changed the title of the article from "Rice Sidesteps Timetable" to "Rice, Kerry duel over Iraq strategy: Nominee links departure to nation's self-defense capability"

Hmmmm....
